Ladder to heaven by kusama yayoi
Ladder to heaven in green colour Ladder heaven is one of the artworks in Sri krishnan temple for Singapore biennale 2006. It was done by kusama yayoi, a japanese artist in her 80s.Well, it is a lovely artpiece to me creating infinity images by attaching two mirrors top and bottom. To me, the ladder resembles life, a long journey which we will never know when it is ending and what is going to happen next. We have to keep climbing in order to see the endpoint. Along the way, we do fall and get hurt, but most importantly we know how to get up and continue the journey.=)  Cosmic orphans During work, many visitors asked what will be done to the painting after the biennale. The painting will fade over time. eventually disappearing due to the effects of the elements. That was what i told them. It applies to memories as well, fading as time pass.Perhaps only some will remain etched in the heart. Will it stay forever ? kai lin@9:26 AM |
